Customer Questions & Answers
Q & A
Yes, It will
You can install it anywhere you would like that make sense for your application. I can't say how the boat will handle mounting it in the middle tho.
You would need 2 of the RibPorts. To install them you would to heat up the RibPort with a heat gun or hair dryer to make it bendable. Then glue them on with 2 part epoxy and let set for at least 2 days.
The StarPort HDs would be installed onto your aluminum bench. the extra support for the side of the kayak would not need to be installed for it to work with your boat. We do not have a Scout available to see how the seats are installed. You would have to make sure the seats can handle the torque of the motor.
The 2in x 4in mounting plates on your kayak will take StarPort HDs, which you would then mount the trolling motor mount to.

Just starting to assemble motor mount. Instructions are fine up to mounting the last fastner to the kayak. The screws etc. are inappropriate for placing the last fastner to a kayak. You can’t get a nut on a screw in a closed body of kayak. I am going to try threaded wood screws to fasten the last piece to the kayak to be able to insert the double male cylinder. Instructions on this last part of the installation are non-existent. Please reach out to me by phone or by e-mail for instructions. Thank you, Oz
I installed the RAILBLAZA mount on my 13 ft. Ocean Kayak Trident. I really like the ability to remove the mount easily for transport or when I’m not using the trolling motor. The RAILBLAZA motor mount works just as advertised!
well made and seems to be very sturdy.
Excellent product, manufactured with high quality materials, looks and feels very strong, capable to hold my 55lb trolling motor, I am planning to installed in my Brooklyn TK122 Tandem Kayak, comes with everything you need for installation but for this type of kayak I suggest using longer screws to install a plastic resistance plate inside de kayak for strong attachment of the pieces that go attached to the kayak, just for security, I think that for lighter trolling motors like 36lb this won’t be necessary, well just a suggestion.
